Dekes and A.T.O.'s Place Two Each BY BILLY CUNNINGHAM Texan Sports Staff Oak Grove Co-Op, champion of the tournament, dominated the all intramural touch football team, picked by intramural officials, placing three men on the first team. Alpha Tau Omega and Delta Kappa Epsilon placed two men each while the other places went to a Kappa Sigma and a Tejas Club player. James Stoussey, whose long range sharp-shooting downed the Tejas Club, 13-0 in the finals, took over the quarterback post. Ralph McConnell, Oak Grove center, who scored three touchdowns in his last two games, was awarded the cen ter position, while James Bond, an other member of the Oak Grove line which held opponents to one touchdown in the tournament, was named to a tackle position. Jimmy Stathakos, Deke back and triple threat man, had little trouble in making the team as full back. His teammate Fred Chambers was placed at left end. Tobin Armstrong and Pat Pickett, tackle and halfback of the A.T.O.'s, were selected at those posts for the intramural team. Armstrong's line play in the Deke game earned him his position, as he touched Stathakos time and again for losses, Robert Keeton, end, who did the punting for the Tejas Club, and Bill Crombie, Kappa Sigma, com pleted the team as right end and left half, respectively. Players making the second team included Jack Glauser, A.T.O. and L. W. Hedrick, Cyclops, ends; Bob Storey, Tejas, and Paul Col letti, Blomquist Swedes, tackles; Kenneth Seibert, Phi Gamma Del ta, center; Joe Sparks, Roberts Hall, quarterback; Darwin Pegues, Oak Grove, fullback; Bill Mark ette, Campus Guild, fullback; and Cam (Powder) Harrell, B. Hall, fullback. Oak Grove’s 345 points picked up in winning the football tourna ment gave them a 186 point lead over their nearest rivals at the end of fall quarter in the M.I.C.A. di visions in the race for all-year trophy points. Oak Grove has 956 points, while the Campus Guild, in second place, has 770 points. Other leaders in the point race are the Cyclops with 659 points, Vel War with 582 points, Blom quist Swedes, with 546 points, Wiley Mongrels with 513 points, and Dixon Co-Op with 483 points. In the race for the individual trophy, Keeton of the Tejas Club, who is a member of the all-intra mural football team, is leading with 45 points. Sam McBirney’s 42 points for Delta Kappa Epsilon places him in the runner-up spot, while Ted Belmont, also of the Dekes, is in third place with 34 points. Steussey, Markette, and Pickett are all tied for fourth place, one point behind Belmont.
