BASKET BALL ASSOCIATIONSteps Taken to Organize an Km ternAmateur League.The start of a permanent basket ball aoeo-Jation was made last tight at a meeting of the committee appointed at Japt Saturday’s gathering of the local basket ball managers. I -fist night’s meeting was held at the Caledonian Club, and all the members of the committee were present. Charles A. Sfeol-berg, of the Germantown Y. M, C. A., presided.Mr. Thomas of the Central High School, opened the meeting with a motion to proceed to the formation of an organizaton, to be known as the Eastern Amateur BasketBall Association.'Ihe object of the association shall be to mantain a clean standard of basket ball and to protect the interests of teams which shall become registered members.The officers of the assocation will be a president, first vice-president, second vice-president, secretary and treasurer, who with four others shall constitute a board of managers of the association. These officers are to be elected annually at a meeting authorized by representatives of the members of the association. Each team shall have but one vote.It was decided that only the managers of teams registered in this association, for which there is no charge, shall be admtted the next general meeting, which is to be held at the Arena on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.
