N.C.H.L. selects All Starsfor North and South teamsBIRTLE (Staff)- At ameeting of all nine North Central Hockey League teams here on Sunday afternoon, the North and South division teams were selected for the annual All Star game, to be played in Elkhom on Saturday, January20 at 8:30 P.M.Angusville Flyers dominated the first team picks in the North division as they placed four players on the No. 1 team. Glen Katchin at left defense, Bob Mazur at centre, Lynn Chuch-much at right wing and Lorne Gallant at left wing, were all chosen to the first team. Rounding out the first team picks were Jake Guay of Birtle Blazers in goal and Larry Gerelus of the Shoal Lake Eagles on right defense.Players added to the team were Allan Rittaler, Dennis Kowal, Bill McArthur, Bob Edmundson and Rob Ewbank from Birtle; Dean Thom, Mark Stefanuk and Ron Hedley from Rossbum; Roy Reagh from Angusville; Wayne Chegwin, Peter Baydak, Garth Short and James Simpson from ShoalLake.Players from the Elkhom Canadians dominated the South division first team picks. Rusty Still in goal, Gary Bowles on left defense, Delbert Bowles at centre, Darwin Stonehouse on left wing and Brian Revel on right wing were all chosen to the first team. Jack Hunter of the Kenton Cougars was chosen to the right defense position.Players added to the team include Brian Canart, Kelly Haggarty and David Turner from Hamiota Huskies; John Johnston, Blair Fordyce and Lawrence Daniel from Kenton; Delbert Cole, Ross Stewart and Craig Peel from Miniota; Harvey Shaw and Wayne Peters from Cardale; Dennis Kyle from Elkhom.R.J. Scantlebury of the Birtle Blazers will be coaching theNorth team while GeorgeLawless of the Rossbum Hornets will act as Manager. Elkhorn’s Dale O'Greysik will coach the highly favored South team, while Jerry Nolan of Kenton will act as Manager.
