Jan. 17,The Duval athletic club makes this,their final and most positive announcement, that the Corbett-MitcUeil contest willIitake place on January 25, 1891. Tips have been uujat out that Governor II. L. Mitchell has ordered troops in Jacksonville for the sole purpose of preventing: the contest. Notwithstanding these reports the club reiterates its past assertions and for the past week has been arranging for an emergency of tins kind.: Should the troops be sent here, w the club does not believe that any violence would be participated in by them, yet we would not subject our patronsto the slight* fc danger of any kind.Bo thorough and complete are our arrangements that should an emergency of any kind ariseon the morning of tire 25tli we are prepared to handle 6,000 people with thegreatest convenience.
