Lakin/PerezRace WinnerOKLAHOMA CITY — C'hris Perez of Lakin started his 1976 collegiate idoor track and field season in fine fashion here Friday night.The Kansas State University distance ace flashed home first in the rugged two-mile run during the second annual Sooner Indoor Relays.Oklahaoma won the team crown with 59 points, and runner-up K State had 52 Kansas was a notch behind with 51 points.Other team scoring: Baylor 34 points North Texas State 29 Oklahoma State 20. Texas Christian It. Arkansas 8 Texas AM 7 points. Southern Methodist competed but did not score.Perez in his high school years at Lakin won numerous state distance and cross-country crowns.Friday he toured the indoor two miles in K minutes, 52.7 seconds. That was a shade ahead of runner-up Stan Vernon from Oklahoma, clocked in 8:53.12. Third place went to Bill Lundberg of Kansas, timed in 8:55.11
