wincontest4Six Pulaski County young people, . ages 8 to 18, won their first round of competition in the “Elk’s Hoop Shoot” free throw contest lastweekend at Pulaski Middle Schooland have been named PulaskiCounty champions.The six winners now advance to the district finals scheduled Feb. 15 at James Madison. Junior High School in Roanoke.Winners there will advance to the state finals in Richmond. They could go on to compete in the 1988 national •finals at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Ind., in April.Winners and first place runners up in Pulaski were;Boys: 12-13: Patrick Lawson; first runner up Kevin Alexander.-10-11: Mark Quesenberry; first runner up-Kevin Turman. .-8-9: Bryan Ratcliff; first runner up-Josh O’Dell,Girls: 12-13: Dana Manns; first runner up -Diane Webb.v -10-11: Angie McGuire; first runner up-Misty Dawn Williams.8-9; Stephanie Williams.Sid Steger, who headed the local program, said, “The Pulaski Elks Lodge i067 would like to thank Mr, (Harold) Lambert, principal at Pulaski Middle School, Mrs. (Joyce) Bryant and Mr (E.R.)
