G. Spaulding Golf Department, has just ^ completed a series of lectures to the j u students in landscape gardening. | nMr. Bendelow has designed about j # 800 courses, including the first public courses that were laid out in this country. The last year shows a total of 43 courses that were laid. out by Mr. Bendelow. This shows the remarkable progress that golf is making in this country.Besides his lectures, which included the history and development of the game of golf in this country, the general purinciples governing the designing of golf courses, and the modern tendencies in golf course design, he gave a criticism of about 25 designs that had been worked up by students.During his visit here Mr. Bendelow looked over the possibility of the j fair ground track in Urhana for a nine j hole golf course and found the propo- j sition very favorable. However, it | will rest with the chamber of com-1 inerce or some other organization to push it through.
