Eighth Grade Girls Lose at Spirit Lake jThe Emmetsburg 8th grade girls basketball team opened their season Jan, 7 suffering two fosses at Spirit Lake. The score of the B game was 39-27, and the A game score was 50-30, with Spirit Lake on the top in each.The B game was a real toss-up until the iast few minutes when Spirit Lake pulled away. The Emmetsburg forwards shot a very fine 50 percent from the field but didn't manage to take enough shots. Peg Bechnai, playing only two quarters of the game, was high scorer with .13 points. Kim Newman added 10 points, Barb Donahue and TamiNevenhoven each had 2 points. The guards were paced by Shelly Boitnott and Becky Allen.Height disadvantage and a cold \ shooting hand were the big dif- j ferences In the A game.
