Members nut picturedn \cker, Cyn-The squad iaAliceSwimTeamsThe Alice Higti Swim Team and Hub City Hustlers coachedby Harry Vargas brought homehonors in a swim meet over the weekend at Flour Bluff, There were approximately 550 summers from over tlie state entered to provide some of the best competition for the localteams.The Flour Bluff AAl meet was the first of the school year for the Alice Swim Team, which was organized in December.Swimmers for the team are Debbie Mra/eh, Steve Findley,Dean Jackson, Harwell Gravis,Susie (ireen, David Barrow,Hicky Sisson and Marlin Koerth.Barrow swam the 100 meterback stroke in 109.8 to win fifth place. Sisson won sixth place in the 100 meter breast stroke and his time was 1.30.3. Gravis took a seventh place in the same event; his time was1.30,4.»The relay team, composed ofSisson, liar row, Findley andJackson, won fourth in the 200medley and the team wasclocked at 2.1. flat, just four seconds away from winning first.In the girls event, Susie Green ilt;*k seventh place in the 200 meter free style and Debbie Mra/eh. eighth in the sameIIHie Hustlers were led in the I lour Bluff competition by a Freer youth, Jim Acker, 11, who travels to Alice to be a part of the local team.Acker has won 23 trophies forhigh points chalked up in swimcompetition, 108 individual medals and 68 ribbons.The Hub City Hustlers are grouped according to age.
