Winning at national-caliber events from the tight enduros of t he east to the wide-open spaces of the western desert, I)avis racked up AMA National Championships and captured the respect of tellow racers across the nation.Bom in Bakersfield, Calif., in 1969 and raised in I iesperia, I )avis was encouraged by his father to start riding at an early age. Despite his dad’s affinity for desert racing, Davis say s there was no pressure for him to start cornpetingat a young age.I )avis was a top regional amateur mot(xrosser,1987, then the 1250c and25OCC TransCal Series cliampionships in 1988. Davis’ most high-profile title came at the 1990 AMA Supercross I2$ccWest Region Championship when he beat future AMA Supercross star and 1!all-of t amer Jeremy McGrath.“ Ilie biggest thing about the I25cc title was thestory behind the scenes,”I)avis says. “I bought my own two bikes, and Jimmy Button and I were driving our own vans to the races.1 just raced a production bike out there, but 1 had the determination.”Davis started his off roadadventure in 1992-2008 winning championships with A IK Motorcycles, Kawasaki Motorcorp,Ty DavisINDUCTED: 201? Although he was on the winning Baja 1000 team tour times from 1993-96 he was stillTV Davisfinding his speed in individual events.I iavis earned Kawasaki its first, and only, overall AMA National Enduro Championship in 1995.I iavis won again in 1999, giving Yamaha its first overall enduro title. His goal was to maintain a personalized touch for all his customers by providing a family oriented atmosphere. 1 le specializes in suspension, rebuilding motors, and making part s here in the USA. I lehas a relentless passion fortrouble shooting bikes and making them run to theirhighest performance.He has developed topriders such as Nathan Woods, Gary Sutherlin, Russ Pearson, Jamie Lanza, Sherri Cruse, Cory Graf-funder, Bobby Garrison, Kiayne Thompson, and now Dalton Shirey.Davis has participated and designed challenging tracks such as Glen Helen’s Endurocross section (Ty’s Tower of Fear was used in several races),The Last Dog Standing, and JBC Endurance Series.In 2014 Davis was hiredto design the Endurocross track for the So Cal MC Adelanto Grand Prix. Every year he comes up with something new and exciting for the racers and the fans. You never know what he’s going to come with next. In 2017 Davis is building a kids track so all ages may enjoy the Adelanto Grand Prix.
