The Bears have not lost a home court conference game in two years of play, and they kept their string alive by defeating Sitka 68-59 and 84-58The Wolves led by the scoring of Dave Licari gave Juneau a tough series Licari had 20 and 22 in the two games Also in double figures for Sitka were Mike Welch 14 and 12 and Robert Havana also had 14 in the first game Juneau was led by John Richards who had 18 and 22 Don Nowlin 15 and Chris Monagle 14 had double figures in the first game and Kevin Fagerstrom had 20 and Jim Calvin 17 in the second game,Sitka’s hustle and scrap play has improved considerably from the last games They hung withJuneau through both first halfs but the third quarter jitters hit the Wolves which allowed the Bears to take control.Quarter scores were Sitka 12-26-36-54 and Juneau 16 29-50-68 the first night The second night, Sitka had 12-26 32-58 and Juneau, 18-35-62-84.The JV’s lost two to the Juneau JVs. The undefeated Juneau JV’sRoberts scored 10 to lead Sitka and Pat Costello scored 21 to lead juneau. The second night Neil Haavig was theonly Sitka player m double figures with 12 and Sheldon Winters was high for Juneau with 12.Wrangell Wolves will be here this weekend to play the Sitka Wolves JVs play at 6:45 and Varsity at 8 p.m.Following are the individual scores for the first and secondgames:SitkaM Welch A.
