Girls’ Teams to Play Opener Here Next ThursdayFor the first time In the history of basketball here two girls’ teams will play before a pay «nwd when the newly organized Spencer business girls’ quintets, unofficially called the “Pansies,” wtU take the floor next Thursday night, January 18, to play the curtain-raiser event for the Bpeneer Merchants-New York . Nationals game. The game will be at the Spencer high school gymnasium*Coach “Bed” Carver of the business girls’ teams will select two evenly matched squads forthe competition. They will play boys’ rules, Carver states, and he hopes to have the teams up to a good standard of proficiency for the opening fracas.
