IIHS Team Will Face New Foe Saturday NightThe Hillsboro High School Indians will play their first Saturday night game of the year this week when they- entertain the Fairborn Flyers on the local court. The Indians will be idle Friday night.This will be the first time that the two schools have met in any [ sport. As a matter of fact, Fairborn thas only been in existence as a I school under that name since January, 1930. The school was formerly known as Bath Township until the annexation of Fairfield to Osborn resulted in the birth of the city of Fairborn.The Flyers are coached by Allen Kneisly who assumed the coaching reigns last fall after Fred Busche-meyer, for 16 years head cage mentor, stepped down from the active coaching role to devote full time ! lo his position as athletic director, Kneisly moved up from the reserve-junior high coaching posts.With only two lettermen back from last year's team, the inexperienced Flyers have a none too impressive record. Scores to date are: Wayne 45, Fairborn 41; Lebanon 36, Fairborn 27; Beavercreek 39, Fairborn 28; Fairborn 32, Woodrow Wilson 31; Fairborn 35, Dayton Parker 27; Vandalia-Butler 45, Fairborn 27; Fairborn 36, Troy 35; Vandalia-Butler 49, Fairborn 36. Friday night of this week, Fairborn will play Monroe.Two lettermen are forward Dick Funke and center Bob Hagen. Hagen gives the Flyers their only consistent scoring punch. He has scored 54 points in four games. In addition to these two, other starters will be Wavne Leins, forward; Jim McCarty, Don Stuchell or Jimmy Howard at guard.Fairborn is a member of the Little Seven League which consists of Vandalia-Butler, Woodrow Wilson, Monroe, jSorthridge, Franklin, Lebanon and the Flyers.Population of Fairborn is 7,864. Enrollment of the entire city school district is 3,007. High school enrollment is about 725.
