HOCKEY NEWSOn Saturday night December 20th, three teams from Brandon visited Shoal Lake forthree games.In the first game, Brandon defeated Shoal Lake eight and unders 4-2. Billy Jenkins scored both goals for Shoal Lake. In the second game, Brandon and the 10 and unders were pretty well matched, but Peter Baydak scored for Shoal Lake in the last minute of play to end a real thriller. After the goal by Shoal Lake, Brandon pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, but failed to score. Terry Markle received the shutout in the Shoal Lake net. The finalscore was 1-0 for Shoal Lake. In the third and final game,the Shoal Lake twelve and un ders, outskated, outshot, and outscored the Brandon team, by a score of 9-2. Kenny Wow-ryk scored three times for Shoal Lake while Myles Buchanan and Doug Mintenko scored twice, and singles went to Rick Fowlie and Nelson Woods. Terry Markle and Del Wilerg shared goal-tending duties forShoal Lake. ,On Sunday, December 21st, the Shoal Lake sixteen and unders just couldn’t get going against a strong Strathclair team and were defeated 15 - 0.December 22nd was the day the Neepawa 14 and unders invaded the arena and captured a 15-1 decision. The lone Shoal Lake goal was scored by Derrick Edmundson.The eight and unders ten md unders and twelve and un-lers travelled to Birtle on Dee-jmber 27tb.
