State Quintet Holds MountKent State College’s rejuvenatedasketball team met the state cham-ion Mount Union five at Wills gym-lasium and though taking the small •nd of a 37 to 24 score, acquitted hemselves nicely.The contest was played before a arge crowd, the seating capacity of he gymnasium being taxed to the imit. The visitors proved to be a :ood attraction, many spectators comag from Ravenna, Cuyahoga Falls nd other nearby points.While both teams showed flashes of peed at times, the game as a whole /as not as fast as many had expect-d. In fact the visitors seemed to ake things rather easy, exerting hemselves only when their lead was hreatened. In the latter half many ubstitutions were made.State started the scoring, but soon )st the lead. The first half was nip nd tuck, ending 9-5 in Mount’s fav-r. Thereafter Mount pulled further head and was not threatened.Coach Wagone? has a good team nd it is one that will be heard from efore the season is over.
