It was a simple case of one team making shots and the other misfiring.Indiana coach Bob Knight didn’t offered any excuses after his team’s worst offensive showing of the season. It was Indiana’s season low for points, and the Hoo-siers committed a season-high 25 turnovers.Iowa (11-2) jumped to a 25-6lead and showed that its upset of Duke and strong showing against Arkansas at the Rainbow Classic last week were no flukes, The Hawkeyes won their Big Ten opener for the first time since 1989 and now have matched their victory total for all last season.The Opener was certainly tough for Indiana (8-5), which missed 13 of its first 16 shots and got no points — zip, nada — from sharp-shooting forward Brian Evans.Jess Settles led Iowa with 18 points and Woolridge scored 13 while handing out nine assists.Settles scored eight points during Iowa’s early spurt, which the Hawkeyes capped with a 14-0 run.
