In the preliminaries Walter Nolan of Piiiludelpnia and Joe Curtin of Chicago went six rounds tn a draw. Johnny Stone of'Milwaukee was knocked out in the fourth round by *4Kilt;T Herman of Chicago, and “Young Scotty of Denver knocked out “Jvid Block of Chicago in one round,Philadelphia, Jan. 3.—James Ferns of Kansas knocked out Jack Bennett of Mr-KVesport. Pa., in the serond round at Ih* Industrial Athletic club tonight. The was to have gone six rounds.Baltimore. Mi. Jan. 3.—Thomas Broderick of Yonkers. N. Y., was knocked out by Joe Gans of Baltimore in the sixth round of a tight scheduled for twenty rounds at Ifie Eureka Athletic club to-night,Philadelphia. Jan. 3.—Bnbby Thompson of Toronto. Can., and Billy Devine of this city fought six fust rounds to a draw tonight at the Central Athletic club.
