Gagliardi is Unhealthy for College Ball-Carroll Should be DroppedI hereby go on record as stating that Carroll College be suspended from the Montana Collegiate Conference until it releases Coach John Gagliardi. His actions throughout the 1951-52 season have been highly uncomplimentary to the Conference. If such actions are to be tolerated it will be a very short time until the Conference has a black name throughout the athletic world. The Carroll mentor, John Gagliardi, has time after time taken it upon himself to set up his own rules and violate all ethics of college athletics.Three times he has sounded off for the apparent purpose of inflating the reputation of John Gagliardi. All three times he tended to discredit either an officer of the Conference or of the N.A.I.B.Although he might have been partially justified in some of his accusations, he used very little tact in his procedures. The first instance in question was the officiating at the game which Eastern at Carroll, after which Gagliardi questioned the integrity of Eastern’s Coach Alterowitz. The second incident was the blast at all the officials of the conference, with the exception of those in Helena, and the use of the term “poppycock” in answer to Herb Klindt’s protest of the officiating in Helena. The third item was the failure to want to pay N.A.I.B. dues until his team would finish on top in the conference, and then demand a chance to pay the necessary fee. According to Herb Klindt, District N.A.I.B. Commissioner, Carroll College was informed that it was delinquent in the payment of its dues, it made no effort to remedy the situation. These dues, ten dollars, were to be paid by December 31, 1951, in order for a team to be eligible for representation in theN.A.I.B. tourney.k*In order to restore the public’s respect in this conference, it seems the only solution is to suspend Carroll until it procures the services of a new coach.Hal Slavens.MOST ELIGIBLE BACHELORare Peg Aakhust Erna MeinhardtGirls Agai'Battle ofThe girls wall honors again at nual ‘‘Battle ofweek.Chairman for 1 Hucke, spared bringing talent f country to lead on to victory.First on the pr Jean Schultz, w by Ed White, s Loving That Mar in the spotlight Carnegie Hall, w Cowley, Wyomi piano selection 1 Soon to be a Broadway prodi Street of Near doing a limp h Beverly Downs, Mary Ann Geor^ Hayes.
