IN TRACK1FIELD MEET| Formal notification o f the events to be staged in the annual field and track meet of the Ohio Valley Athletic Association were gent out yesterday by William A. Long, director of physical education of Wheeling high school to the twenty-three high schools of the Ohio Valley who are members of the association.As last year, the meet will be the sectional meet for the West Virginia high school track and field meet for the Wheeling district and the events to be staged will be the same as those for the state meet except the mile relay, where five men will be used instead of four in the state meet.Wheeling high school will again be in charge and the meet will be held on the Wheeling public school athletic field on the Island. Officials and further details will be arranged later. Yesterday's notices were the first of the season,! and were addressed to the track team managers,The-following are the schools to be represented: Wellsburg,Weirton, Warwood, Wheeling, Union, Trladelphla, ^istersville, Sherrard, Shadyside, St. Clairs-viile, Newell, New Cumberland, Moundeville, Middlebourne, Martins Ferry, Magnolia (New Martinsville), Linsly Institute, Foll-ansbee, Chester, Cathedral high school, Cameron, Bridgeport and Bellaire.The meet will be held Saturday, May 13th, and already many of the schools who will be represented have begun training for the meet.Solid gold medals will be awarded first place winners, in all events, while silver medals will go to second place winners. Bronze medals will be given third place winners while there will be paquea, cups and other prizes for the various events.The following is the list of events to be staged, according to the notices sent out yesterday by Mr. Long: 100 yard dash; 220 yard dash; 120 high hurdles; 220 low hurdles; 440 yard dash; 880 yard run; one mile run; one mile relay (five men); 12 pound hammer throw; 12 pound shot put; discus throw; javelin throw; running broad jump; running high jump; pole vault.As in last year's meet, the winners will be chosen for the state meet except in several instances, but the awards for the district meet will be made.
