FITZSIMMONS IN FORM.The Kangaroo Pronounced Right ) tfor His Mill. jNew Orleaxs, Feb. 2Y.—A number vof admirers of Maher have changed utheir opinions after getting a look at J.Fitzsimmons and the way he punches the bag. Among his visitors today were II. S. Seeley ami Al. Pierce, of Worcester, Mass. Both thought well of Maher, but after their trip to Bay St. Louis, concluded that Fitzsimmons was the better man of the two and will put their money on the latter. Fitzsimmons has given up most of his hard work and will confine himself to walking until Monday, when lie will limber up for the last time prior to the fight. He left Bay St. Louis today for New Orleans. He is in the best possible condition, and expects to enter tthe ring at 170 pounds. It is expected sthat Chovnski will face Frank Slavin, ]and Felix Vaqualin will meet Mitchell tin their four-round bouts previous to the big fight between Maher- and Fitz- Isimmous.Fit and Confident.Atlanta. Feb. 27.—Peter Maher came into Atlanta last night with Billy Madden and J. W. Fallon. They refused to see any visitors. They sav they want to slip quietly into New Orleans, and seem to be sincere in their desire to escape notoriety. Maher is said to be iu prime condition and confident.
