CHALLENGEACCEPTEDDUTCH THURSTON IS TO FIGHT MIKE M CLURE IN MARCHEd Harrington Backs the Dutchman With From $500 to $1000 ^Side Bet.Another boxing contest has been arranged by the Kern County Athletic Club, which is scheduled to take place some time during the middle of next nionth. On the night of the Thurston* Willie fight a challenge was read from Mike McClure to fight the winner.This challenge has been accepted by Thurston, and word has been sent to McClure to that effect. McClure stipulated that a side bet of from $200 to $500 should be put up by each principal. Ed Harrington of San Francisco, who was in Bakersfield the night of the Thurston-Willie fight, has expressed his willingness to back the Dutchman and has raised McClure in the side bet, making it from $500 toS1000. This information has also been sent to him and the club is now waiting for his reply.Thurston is still in the city and will begin his training for the fight tomorrow. The contest is to take place atScribner s and will be at 148 pounds.
