Choynski-Hanrahan Contest is Transferred From the (Monarch.Louisville, Ky., Feb. 27.—A shift in local boxing arrangements was made today when the Monarch club transferred the bout between Joe Choynski and **Wid Bill” Hanrahan to the Empire Athletic club. The contest will take place before the latter organization on March 7 at Music hall. Hanrahan arrived in the city several days ago and has been in hard training. He claims that when he faces Choynski he will be in as good shape as he was when he knocked out Marvin Hart in less than a round. He says he was not in good physical shape when he met Frank Childs, the colored heavy weight, recently at Chicago.Choynski has been in active training for the contest for the last three weeks at his home at La Grange, 111., near Chicago, and writes that he will be fit and ready when he faces Hanrahan. George Siler will be referee of the bout.Jack McKenna, Abe Attell’s manager who came from New York to witness the McGovern-SulIivan contest, is still in the city. He was anxious to make a match with McGovern and Sam Harris, manager of “Terrible Terry,” agreed to let Terry box Attell six rounds in Philadelphia. McKenna said yesterday: ‘‘I don't want anythingto do with those Philadelphia things. You know in Philadelphia no decisions are rendered. What I want is for McGovern to box Attell before a Louisville club. I want to see who is the better man. as I have followed Young Corbett all over the country and. after matching Attell with him four times. Young Corbett invariably called the bouts off.”The Southern Athletic club, which pulled off the McGovern-SulIivan fight, is after the McGovern-Corbett fight and may get it.
