This was demonstrated Sunday when Johnny Moore’s junior collegians traveling under the name of the Riverside all-stars, crashed down on Corona Merchants and took the long end of 10-9 game. This despite the fact that Jess Hill, Corona's all-round athlete, now the property of the New York Yankees of the big circuit, was working in the center garden for Corona. He didn't have much exercise in center field, but he came through with two clean-cut three-base bingles which accounted for five of the nine Corona scores. Another time he took one of Ven-cini's fast shoots in the ribs and the next time drove a fly into the gloves of the right fielder. However, in the ninth, he was struck out by Griffith, who Was the final Riverside pitcher.The game was lost largely through the ineffective pitching for Corona.
