Dftkin Miller was in the office the other day and in talking- on the base ball question he showed us his contract for the coming year with the Kansas City team in the Western League, fle had just signed up with them and in it they agree to pay him 81500 and expenses for the base ball season—about five months, and expenses during the practice time. He also has a clause saying he shall not receive less than that for the season of 1904, He was offered a good thin°-to go to the Los Angeles team but he prefered to go to Kansas City as he has so many acquaintances there and expicts to go into business when he quits the profession. Dakin is counted one of the best and most reliable ball players in the Western League.mi- . txr * •
