The city drive will officially end tomorrow with v noon luncheon and final check up at the 11 ub cafe. It is expected that the total contributions by individuals solicited together with the proceeds from tonight’s game will complete the $3000 goal established by the local campaigners before the drive began.Boasting one of the best records of any professional basketball quintet in tlm country, the St. Louis All-Stars will be out to show the people of southern Illinois just how good a girls' team can he. The roster of the squad includes Lena Martin. Frieda Martin, Helen Marsh, Isabelle Payne, Virginia McQueen, and Anna Benich. These young women's average height is about five feet eight inches and their stamina has outlasted many men's squads. More than three hundred games have been played in the few years that these young ladies have competed together, and their record of wins is very high.Captain Gerald Veach of the Intramural Aces has selected the ten men upon whom the burden of defeating the All-Stars will rest. They are Robert Spear, Vincent Parednis, Mac Aiken, Arthur Coffey, Gene Trini, Winston Parker, Wayne Lee Smith, Thomas Dunn, and Jack Cox.These men have gone through heavy practice sessions for the past two weeks and Veach states that his players are ready to topple the All-Stars.Richard E. Gadske and Merritt Allen of the Carbondale Community High school will donate their services as officials for the game which will begin at 8 p. m.
