R. Ferguson company and tho Association members outlined a program which, if adopted. will make, tho stadium practically selft sustaining.J. Vincent Jamison. Jr.. president of tho Aneuclatinn. briefly stated that the organization had saved about $7,000 in the past fifteen years for Just a purpose as was assured last night. Mr Jamison said that ho had a municipal stadium in mind for tho past thirty years.Work on tho athletic plant will begin as soon as possible, Mr Jamison stated. With the baseball season Just a few months off the stadium will be rushed to completion and plans will also be started for the establishment of a quarter mile running track and about 10 tennis courts. There has been a crying need for tennis courts here for many years. It is planned to gradually develop the tract into an immense athletic field, suitable for track and field events.According to plans, about a half acre of the adjoining H. E. Bester property will he leased and if finances are sufficient the land will be tmhased by the Association and given to the city. Of the two plana drawn up one required 1785 feet of fence to enclose and the other 1600 feet. It was indicated last night that the latter would be adopted.According to the terms in the lease the city will bear the expense of changing the course of Marsh run which now runs through the proposed site.
