After the first half, Kaskaskia coach Chuck Mundell subbed Harlan Gerrish for Heimann, who had compiled four personals.Gerrish still meant trouble for WVC's short center, as Gerrish stood at 6’8”. However, Ackerman got past Heimann and Gerrish often enough to lead all four teams in the ni-ght s scoring, racking up 23 points for Wabash Valley. The Warriors were behind by five points in the half andtournament, they will probably face the Benton Rangers In the first round of sectional play. Last year the Rams met the Rangers in this same situation and it took a late Benton rally to avoid an upset last March. The Mules of Fairfield have a fine one-two punch in the scoring department with Steve Cox and Bob Clayton who arenever picked up the lead again or shortened that margin.KASKASKIA—36Kaskaskia Tops Wabash ValleyFG FT PF TPBryant62314Kegler56116Heimann3046Mulvaney• 300’ iDoehring42110Gerrish0030Dahncke0212Ggrrett’ 0202Jenkins0010Totals21141456WABASH VALLEY—19FGFTPFTPDuvall4038Dennis101JAckerman95323Johnson3036Scott2448Fox, 0000Inskeep1022Totals2091649Scores byhalfS•Kaskaskia2531-56Wabash Valley2029-49Olney-BellevilleBelleville gave Olney a run for their money last night, pulling out from a nine-point trail at the half to finally over take the famous Blue Knights of Olney, with 57-54 in Belleville’s favor, nine minutestogo in the game.Speedy Steve Glodo, standing only at 5’7”, led the Belle-BOWLvilllans by taking 15 points for the Dutchmen.
