Bob Kurland Sets New Scoring Mark With 58 PointsSTILLWATER, Okla. OP - -Bob Kurland, seven-foot center of the Oklahoma A and M college basketball team, set a new national collegiate scoring record Friday night with 58 pointsas his teammates tramped helpless St. Louis university, 86-33.Kurland singed the nets with 25 field goals and eight free throws to break the old record of 53 points in one game set last year in Madison Square Garden, New York, by George Mikan, the great DePaul star.Kurland marked up 32 of his team's 38 points in the first half and went on from there after the intermission to add 26 more.
