CANCEL CARDS ALBERTA MENAction Follows Threat To Suspend This Branch From UnionI.EDMONTON, Feb. 23.—(C.P.) -Amateur cards of Lindsay Carver, Edmonton hockey and tennis star, and ‘Tat” Faulder, Mountain Part, have been suspended, according1 to word received yesterday from President Greenleaf of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association.Carver, defence star of the Imperials’ hockey team, was unable to play against Superiors last night in the play-off for the Northern Alberta senior championship.Eastern CommentTORONTO. Feb. 23.—“It is just a question of Alberta defying the parent body and reinstating' Class A” professionals—active players who have taken money for playing hockey/* declared W. A. Pry of Dunnville. Ont., chairman of the registration committee, in commenting- on the proposed suspension of the Alberta body. “The thing has got to come to a showdown. If Alberta will not obey orders then it looks to me as if she must be suspended.”Lindsay T. Carver and Isaac Faultier, of Edmonton, are the two hockey players whom the Canadian body wished to bar. It is alleged they were signed by Seattle in 1930 and farmed to Los Angeles and San Francisco professional clubs, playing in California from December 30 to April 3. They were later granted amateur cards by the Alberta branch but when the matter came up at the last annual meeting of the A. A. U. of C. in Ottawa the provincial branch was ordered to revoke them. They refused, it is reported, and the matter finally was pent to I he regis-i ration commit tee of thr Union.
