Men’sLast week was an exciting time in the Town of Pulaski Men's Basketball League as unbeatens Clack’s Crew and the No Names met for the first time after combining for 19 straight wins against the rest of the pack.Clark's, prevailed by dominating the game's final two minutes, 79-69, although the No Names led much of the way. Also, Stevens Funeral Home five time league MVP Dennis Shrews-berry became the first player to score 3,000 career points on a pair of first half free throws against Pepsi Cola. But Shrewsberrys accomplishment was mellowed some as Stevens blew several leads and fell 86-84 in only the league's third ever triple overtime game;Brain Underwood led Pepsi with 31 points and four treys. Greg Allen added 18 and Garry Marion 16, Shrewsbterry finished with 32.Clark’s as usual got strong inside and outside performances to hand the No Names their first loss as Jerome Brown scored 22 and Mark Ward 18 in the paint, while guards Bobby Hunter and Sam Poindexter combined for 29 points.Poindexter held No Names sharpshooter Patrick Lawson to a season low nine points.Lee Walker, and former high school all state player in West Virginia and Bluefieid State player, led the No Names with a game high 29 points.-T think we played them on even terms until the final two minutes of the game, said No Names Larry Fox, who finished with 10 points. 'T think Lee (Walker) played better than anyone on, the floor, .Clark's has a good team, but we'll look forward to hopefully another chance inthe playoffs.Staff photo by Donnie Walls• • * • • * -Dennis Shrewsberry (right) gets the game ball from referee Randy Olverson after Shrewsberry scored his league-record 3,000th point during last week’s play.
