She i1 aced third in the 70-vard hurdles. ' I i^he lost a judges’ decision j for second place to three-year \t!-ran Beth Hudson of the Ohio Track Club. Both were , credited with times of 9 5 seconds in the finals. jl-Winner of the event was j Lottie Thomas of Tennessee State, clocked in 9.3 seconds.Diane won her preliminary heat in 9.5 seconds, edging Joyclt; Davis ot Frederick, Md. In the 440-yard relay event,Diane ran the third leg for the Topeka Cosmos. The Cosmos finished fourth in 50 2 seconds, a new indoor record for the | Cosmos in that event.Winner of the 440-yard relay was the Detroit Track Club, which upset Tennessee State, anchored by U.S. Olympic I champion Wyomia Tyus. Ohio jTrack Clcb took third place in♦he event.
