Burnet’s Petricks Top Basketeers at San AngeloThe following is taken from a column, called “From the Sports Desk” in the San Angelo Ram Page, an official publication of the San Angelo College.The boys from Burnet mentioned are John Petrick. son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Petrick and Ronnie Petrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fddio Petrick.“Here are the results of four basketball games played during the second week of intramural basketball play.Mighty Concho Hall kept their wining streak alive by beating the Rodeo Club 52 to 38. Ronnie Petrick racked up 20 points for Concho Hall and Neal Hendricks was high man for the Rodeo Club w ith 110 points.The Spelunkers put on a burning second half drive to defeat the Trojans 61 to 45. The score u'as tied several times, but half way through the second half the Spelnnkers caught fire, led by Royce Ballinger with 23 points and Jan Roberts with 1H points. John Petrick hit 19 points for the Trojans.The Trojans won their first game of the season by beating the Rodeo Club 41 to 26. Bobby Wied was the top scorer for the Trojans with 15, close behind was John Petrick with 14 points.So far three teams have a 1000 per cent record in intramural basketball standings. It is still too ■ early to judge just how the final - ratings will stand. Each team has nlenty of chances and it is unlike-t !y the championship team will get through the season unbeaten.Concho Hall has a blistering average of 54 points per game. '■ and the Spelunkers are reaching p frr top honors with a 19 point pere i game average. Ronnie Petrick of e Concha Hall is the top scorer in the intramural conference, withSTOP21’2 points per game.”During intramural football season, Ronnie Petrick received area-wide publicity when he caught the winning 6 j*)int TD pass at San Angelo College. At game’s end, the score was 30-30, which necessitated a sudden death play-off.
