Lock Haven SCSwimmers Drop1 EncountersThe mermen of Lock Haven State College ran into a pair of strong swimming teams over the weekend as they lost to Howard University, 68-27, Friday, and Morgan State College, 57*38, Saturday.In the Howard encounter, Ron Puhl placed first in the 100 yard freestvle and Bob Norton won the 200 yard breaststroke. Tom Free-land placed second in diving, Roland Shugarts took second place in the 200 yard butterfly event, and Bill Sharbaugh was second in the440 yard freestyle.At Morgan Stale, Sharbaugh won the 220 and 440 yard freestyles for Lock Haven’s only first places. Freeland placed second in the 220 yard freestyle and diving, and took a third in the 440 yard freestyle. Puhl was second in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. Second places were copped by Shugarts, butterfly; Bill Jordan, backstroke, and Norton, breaststroke. Terry O’Shea won a second place in the 200 yard individual medley race..The Lock Haven swimmers have two remaining meets on their schedule—Wednesday at Lycom-jing and Saturday at Millersville. Their record now is 3-4.f
