! HOT SPRINGS, Ark., Feb. 19.— (IP) — The Mountain ValleySprings Hotel, in the resort section 12 miles north of here, was reported destroyed by fire this morning. Kate Smith and other radio notables were reported guests of the hotel. Details werevery meager as the hotel is located in an isolated spot with no immediate communication!! possible.I Last reports said the large frame structure of over fifty rooms, famous because of its location on the site of the Mountain Valley mineral springs, had | almost burned to the ground anil ! that the summer home of AugustSchaffley of St. Louis, in the tear iof the hotel, aiso was destroyed. Mr. Schaffley is president of theMl, Valley Springs Co.Kate Smith, songbird of radio land stage, had arrived there only Sunday for at least a two weeks’ rest.
