Albany and Monticello Win Tourney GamesMovft to Semifinals Friday of Brodhead SubdistrictBRODHEAD—Albany and Monticello advanced to the semifinals of the Brodhead subdistrict basketball tournament here Tuesday night with victories over Juda and Orfordville, respectively.Albany will next play Brodhead at 7:11 p.m. Friday and Monticello takes on New Glarus in the nightcap. Finals will be Saturday.Albany eliminated Juda, 55-43, and Monticello defeated Orfordville, 66-52.Albany moved out to a 16-9 first quarter lead but Juda came backk to tie the score at 21-21 late in the second quarter. The Cdmetg scored nine straight points to hold a 30-21 halftime margin and were never headed.Bill Wunschel of Juda took scoring honors with 20 points on eight baskets and four free throws. Juda played without the services of Jim Ronspiez who was injured in the New Glarus game Saturday. John Hlavachek was high for Albany with 13 points.Monticello rallied in the second half to down Orfordville. The Vikings led 24-22 at the half but the Ponies outs cored them 44-28 in the second half. Bill Babler and Dan Benkert paced Monticello with 17 points each. Roger Nelson was high for Orfordville with 15 points.
