DufrostBy Mrs. Margaret JamanTwo ladies* rinks from Dufrost entered the Ladies bonspiel in St. Pierre on the 7th 8th and 9th of Feb. These were Mrs. Cecile Closson, skip, Mrs. Therese Marion, Mrs. Samone Turienne and Mrs. Margaret Jaman. The second rink, Mrs. Rene Marion, skip, Mrs. James Timlick. Mrs. Jaqueline Hamonie and Mrs V. Shelby. On Feb. 10th and 11th the Closson rink from Dufrost attended the ladies bonspiel in Rid-geville. A grand time was spentboth at St. Pierre and Ridgeville * *The Dufrost ladies curling clubI held its first open bonspiel on \ Feb 14th and J5th and 16th with | 13 links participating. There were 4 local rinks skipped by Mrs Marie Alarie. Mrs. Cecile Closson. Mrs. Rene Marion and Mrs. Therese Marion. Outside I rinks included one from Niver-i vilie skipped by Mrs. B. Lepp-' ky. one from Otterburne, skipped bv Mrs. M. Stewart, 4 rinks from St. Pierre, skipped by Mrs. Olive Roy. Miss Y. Lariviere. Mrs. N.; Latour and Mrs. E. Gagne, one j from Ridgeville skipped by Mrs.Tillie Gilchrist, and 2 from Morris, skipped by Mrs. M. Hamblin | and Mrs. S. Heinrichs. The prizes were as follows: 1st event. 1st prize, a carving set won by E.] Gagne, link from St. Pierre.2nd prize, a trophy won by C, Closson nnk from Dufrost.3rd prize, a travelling alarm clock won by M. Stewart rink from Otterburne.4th prize, box of stationery won by M. Hamblin rink from Morris.2nd event. 1st prize, a garbage dispenser won by T. Gilchrist rink from Ridgeville.2nd prize, alarm clock won by Y. La n vie re rink from St. Pier-re.3rd prize, steak knives won by M. Alarie rink from Dufrost.4th prize, figurines won by the S. Frontenac lost with a 3-2 score. Harvey Marion and Emil Kinal scored the two goals for Dufrost.* * *Gregg Warbanski had the misfortune of getting his hand caught in the washing machine wringer. However fortunately there were no bones broken and young Gregg's hand was only badly severed. We hope you willfeel better real soon Gregg!♦ * *Mr. and Mrs. John Bylyna andMr. and Mrs. Mike Warbanski attended a house warming party for Mr. and Mrs. Nick Wlad of Winnipeg.* * *Get well wishes to young Pat.Degagne who underwent surgeryin the St Pierre Hospital.* * *Mrs. Sawchuk of Rossburn,Man., is now a patient at the home of her daughter Mrs. Mike WarbanskL Another daughter from Winnipeg spent the week- j end at the Warbanski home helping to care for the ailing mother.* ♦ *Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jaman attended the funeral of an uncle John G. Olson of Walhalla. North Dakota on Soturday, Feb. 15.
