Feb. 20.—After twenty rounds of hard fighting tonight, Sam McVey was declared the winner over ,Joe Jeannette and hoisted to the shoulder.* of cheering admirers, the9American negro prize fighter was carried around the Circque De Paris.Both of the men were in condition for a mashing contest and the exhibit between the two colored pugilists furnished the Frenchmen withone of the greatest athletic spectacles ever witnessed here.From the outset McVey showed his superiority over Jeanette. He out-generalled him and had more force behind his blows. .Jeanette Fights Gamely.Three times during the contest Jeanette was knocked down. He came back strong however and was fighting gamely when the last bell sounded. The decision was popular with the crowd.
