Fertile runs away with District 30 ma t titleti(cI) The Fertile Falcons captured their first District 30 t wrestling title since 1965I Saturday, running away from a nine team field at Bagley.Fertile took the title with 1141 _* points to 76 for# Mahnomen. Oklee was third* with 63 followed by Bagley I 57“ •. VVaubun 54, Fosston 37, I Clearbrook 271 ■, Frskine 19 l and Ada 6'^.4 The Falcons won six in-5 dividual titles while Oklee had I two Waubun, Fosston, Bagleyand Mahnomen one each.The closest final came in the 105 pound class were VVaubun s Don Berry edged past Steve Snobl of Bagley 1-0. Mark Langved of Fertile defeated Mark Bruggeman of Mahnomen 8-6 at 138 while Jeff Kronschnabel of Fertile stopped Craig Baeker of Bagley 4-2 at heavyweight.There were also some one sided decisions including a 14-1 verdict by Fertile s Don Morvig over Allen Teiken of Auwbun at 132 and a 17-5 win by Kevin Lindberg of Fertileover Doug Spaeth of Mahnomen at 155.All winners and runnersup advance to Saturday’s Region 8 meet at Bagley.
