HELPS BID FOR ABCFlushed with success at the late outpouring of entries for the New York Slate Bowling Tournament which opens here in April, Syracuse Bowling Association officials will be heading to Milwaukee later this weekwith added ammunition in quest! of the 1970 American Bowling Congress tourney.For the first time since 1962 it appears the state entry total will surpass the 3,000 team mark. Applications don't close until tonight at midnight and already the 2,800 mark has been passed. Officials will be at Fair-mount Bowling Center and Strike 'N Spare Lanes today from 3-6 p.m. to take local applications.Decision as to host city for the 1970 ABC is due from Milwaukee headquarters next Saturday. Delegations from Denver, Toledo, Knoxville and Syracuse arc invited to attend the session andpresent their credentials. ■ ■■..■■— •- -Early leadersThe Wilson and Ranger bowling 'team streaked to an early lead in the Syracuse Womens Bowling Association tournament that began last night. Margaret Wilson was high for all women howlers with 620. Today 140 womens’ teams will continue bowling at 11:30 a.m. at the sS.vracu.se Bowling Center.
