Neosho Stunned By Glendale's PowerNeosho High School’s varsity basketball team was handed its eighth loss of the season against 12 wins Saturday night when it was defeated by the Springfield ; Glendale Falcons, 96-85, at the i Glendale gymnasium. It was the second loss in two straight nights .for the Wildcats, coached by Ron Alexander. Friday night the ’Cats I were downed by the Mount Ver-!non Mountaineers.! The “B” team, coached by Dallas Kelley, fared a little better, however, when it downed the ! Glendale Bees, 80-73, in a preliminary tilt. The win was the ! llth straight for the Bees, and 12th of the season against one 'loss.In the varsity tilt, the Falcons | grabbed a 20-19 lead and never | trailed in disposing of the ’Cats. At the half, Glendale was on top,140-37, and led, 60-62, after three : periods. In the final quarter, Springfield outscored the local icagers, 30-23.Game scoring honors went to . Neosho’s Lavem Tuggle, who I drilled 26 points. Bill Bethea was !a close second with 25. At the half, Glendale maintained its narrow one-point lead, 42-41. At the end of the third quarter, Neosho forged in front, 59-57, and out-scored the young Falcons, 21-16, in the final perfod.Lewis’ 33 points were more than enough for scoring honors. Top man for Springfield was Klemecke with 26 points. Tony Bussey added 22 to Neosho's cause. *Coach Kelley said yesterday, The boys really played a good game. It was one of their best of the season.
