Afraid that the plane would strike the house, she said, she ran into the yard in time to see the crash. It could be heard, neighbors said, a mile away.Narrowly missing the Barrymore meeting house, a former school building, the plane struck the ground less than 100 feet north of that structure.It seemed to explode, Mrs. Wilson said, and immediately caught fire,lighting up the countryside like aburning building.
