Curling bonspiel notesFrom Thursday, Feb. 3 to Sunday, Feb. 6 the Vita curling club hosted their annual mixed bonspiel. Along with the curling, festivities also included a smorgasbord at the Vita Hall Saturday, as well as a dance feature the Funliters. A good time was had by all and several rinks were fortunate to win prizes. These were:First event, Vita Credit Union Event — First - Ed Dolynchuk, skip; Dave Machula, third; Jarvis Podolsky, second; Liz Podolsky, lead. Second — Bev Berrington, skip; Pat French, third; Shirley Berrington, second; Gloria French, lead. Third Ted Weedmark rink. Fourth — Neil Dowhy rink.Second Event — First — Gene Happychuk, skip; Neil Happychuk, third; Wesley Gushulak, second; Elizabeth Happychuk, lead. Second — Gordon Pott, skip; Terry Lindsay, third; Carol An-drusyk, second; Lynn Riach, lead. Third Ron Slezak rink. Fourth — Wayne Smook rink.Third Event — First — Tom Pearce, skip; Craig Spencer, third; Richard Petrowski, second; Shelley Petrowski, lead. Second — Terry Bjornson, skip; Boris Happychuk, third; Murray Eliuk, second; Janet Bjornson, lead: Third — Gus Zass rink. Fourth — Dennis Tostowarykrink.The prize for the largest end went to the Ed Dolynchuk rink who scored a seven-ender in their first game in the bonspiel. The George Jaman rink won the prize for the first rink eliminated.During the Saturday evening festivities a draw was held at the Vita hall. Winners and prizes were as follows: Texas Mickey - W.
