The Atoka girls used a fourth-quarter rally last night to come from behind and beat Durant. 45-43. while the boys had a surprisingly easy time in stunning seventh-ranked Durant in the nightcap to make it a sweep.The Atoka girls fell behind by seven in the first quarter, but they slowly worked their way back to trail by onlythree entering the fourth quarter.They outscored the Lions, 12-7. in the final period to come away with the victory. Beth Harrison led Atoka with 27 points.The Atoka boys, ranked 17th in the state, shocked Durant 67-50. The margin of victory was surprising, but the fact they beat the Lions inDurant makes the victory even more impressive.Atoka used strong second and third quarters to build a 20-point lead after three quarters.Keith Copeland led the Wampus Cats with 17 points. Smith 7.Total Team Fouls: Antlers 4, Coalgate 9.SCORE BY QUARTERSAntlers..............0 6 14 9 - 29Coalgate...........14 3 10 19 46The Sulphur boys rallied from a disastrous third quarter to down the Wynne wood Savages in a 65-64 decision while the Sulphur girls dropped a 54-46 loss to the Savages.Rhonda Collins scored 24 points from her post position but it wasn't enough for the Sulphur girls.Sulphur tied the game at 19-19 on a bucket by Collins with 2:30 to go in the first half, but a quick seven-point string by Wynnewood gave the Savages a five-point lead going into intermission.Sulphur rallied to within striking distance of the cold-shooting Wynnewood crew several times in the second half on the scoring of Collins and Robin Hurst.The Bulldogs could neverovertake Wynnewood however. as the guards were plagued by turnovers throughout the last half.Four quick points by Bulldog Preston Lay spottedthe Sulphur boys a 38-32 halftime lead after leading by as much as 11 points midway through the second quarter.Wynnewood rallied in the third quarter to tie the game at 47-47 going into the fourth quarter, but Sulphur scored 18 points in the final stanza to oust the Savages.The Coalgate boys put Antlers away early las night at Coalgate. but the girls weren't as fortunate as they dropped a close one. 35-32.The Wildcat boys held Antlers scoreless the first quarter and limited them to only six points in the first half as they built a 17-6 lead.The Bearcats narrowed the gap to seven after three quarters, but Coalgate pulled away in the final period to garner a 46-29 win.The Coalgate girls led Antlers by two entering the fourth quarter, but the 18th-ranked Bearcats rallied for a three-point win.
