After Stalling Two PeriodsBulldogs GetWithin 2 Pts.Last QuarterLittle Giants Stall Ball After Losing Tall Center TalbotOHIO — (Special) — The Ohio Bulldogs saw a potential break cause disaster Saturday night as they bowed to highly regarded De* Fue, 49-43.- When the first quarter closed, DePue’s Don Talbot was stuck with four fouls. Talbot, tall center for the Little Giants, went to the bench and there he stayed until the fourth period.This, ordinarily, would mean a •break for the opposition, but the Little Giants had another trick up their sleeves, one the Bulldogs were unable to cope. with. DePue went into a stall for two periods.Before Talbot picked up his fourth foul, DePue had run up a 17-8 lead at the end of the first period against a cold Ohio five.Against the stall, the Bulldogs scored eight points to six for DePue to trail by seven points at half-time, 16-23. Both teams scored 10 points in the third period to keep the margin the same.Talbot came back in the fourth period and DePue started running again. But Talbot picked up his fifth foul early in the period and DePue went back into its stall.Ohio pulled to within two points of the Little Giants In the final pe riod, 38-36, but two quick baskets by DePue settled the issue.In the first half, DePue scored on 26 per cent of its shots while Ohio connected on only 18 per cent In the second half, DePue shot 66 per cent to 47 per cent for the Bull-dogs.The Bulldogs have three games on tap this week, starting with Amboy tomorrow.
