For years the motion picture makers have been introducing from time to time sport shorts in sn effort to acquaint the public with various kinds of athletics. There have been pictures showing Bobby Jones, the wlsard of the golf links; then there was one showing basketball as played by the colleges and pros; there has been shorts on football, tennis, handball, badminton, ice hockey, sledding, horse racing and everything under the sun in sports with one exception and at last they are bringing that to the sliver screen—Archery.George M. Payette, Jr., manager of the Warner Bros. Theaters was instrumental in bringing this picture here.Bow Strings'’ is the title of the It K. O. short subject picture thst will be shown at the Maryland Theatre on February *7, 28 and Mafch 1 and none other than the women’s and men’s national champions are featured, the former being Miss Jean Tenney, athletic director at the high school here and the latter is Roger Hoogerhyde.The picture was filmed at Pine-hurst, N. C., and had its preview in this city Tuesday night. It is everything that one could ask for and should make a decided hit with the followers of that sport in this section. Miss Tenney demonstrates some remarkable ability with the bow and arrow and her match with Dick Metz, famous golfer is a thing of beauty. She also displays her ability in a roaming shooting match.Fans will see in Roger Hoogerhyde the world’s most accurate shot with the bow and arrow and what he can’t do with his equipment can’t be done.
