Bobcat Runners SparkleFrostburg State’s blistering sophomore relay teams yesterday set two school records, while distance runners set two more during the Virginia Tech Indoor Invitational at Blacksburg, Va.The all-soph 4x400 relay of Lorenzo Waters, Noel Cyrus, Gary Alston and Dwaine Thomas placed second in that event behind Virginia State with a 3:22.4 clocking, while the 4x800 relay of Junior McDonald, Cyrus, Jack Kiley and Thomas set an FSC mark at 7:55.4.Besides having the best split in both relays, Cyrus also ran the open 800-meter event in 1:59.9. His splits in the relays were 50-secondsflat in the 4x400 and 1:56.4 in the 4x800,Kiley also set a college record in the 1,500-meter run with a 4:04 0, while the 5,000-meter event was also run in a college record time of 15:19.3 by Mike Spinnler.Among the 13 colleges and universities participating in the event were Wake Forest, VFI, East Tennessee, South Carolina. James Madisonand Appalachian State primarily Division I trad schools.The Bobcats next indoor outing will be Sunday, Feb 22 at the University o Delaware Invitational, another event used for grooming the ’Cats for defense on the Mason-Dixon Conference Indoor Char* pionships Feb. 28 at Towson State University.
