Moje than 100 spectators saw Ohio City girls win both titles in the senior and* /junior divisions.Alys Rice captured the seniortitle by defeating Mildred Phillips of Hoagl in-Jackson School in two close games. Other victims of the champion were Oloria Mustard of Convoy .and Nell Rose Rucklos of Van Wert. Miss Phillips advanced to the finals with victories over De-lores Girrard of Ohio City, Thelma Elzey of Van Wert, and Lavena Krugh of Hoaglln-Jackson.Arlene Krugh defeated Reecle Ellinger also of Ohio City to win the junior title. Tire scores of the championship set were 21-18, 9-21, and 21-18, Miss Krugh defeated Martha Mustard of Convoy, and Mildred McGowen of Van Wert In the eliminations, while Miss Ellinger won from Medabelle High of Ohio City, and Permilla Wherry of Van Wert.Winners of the tourneys received medals and pennants, while the runner-ups were presented emblems. The tournament was a special activity of the county recreation program and was In charge of Von Spahr and Ivan Brubaker of Ohio City.
