PAGE 18— SANDUSKY REGISTER — MON., FEB. 12,1973By TOM WOLFE Register Sports Writer You can’t blame Gary Reynolds if he has a few gray hairs today after his Sandusky Blue Streaks suffered a heartbreaking loss Saturday night, this one in overtime to a fine DeVilbiss squad 65-59, dropping the Streaks to 3-13.DeVilbiss came into the game with the reputation of being one of the top teams in Toledo and the Tigers, who will take a 13-4 record into next week’s Toledo City League championship playoff, startedwith a blaze of speed.THE VISITORS WERE in control throughout most of the contest and they-held a lead which ranged between eight and 10 points throughout the first three periods and for the first five minutes of the fourth period.At this point, Sandusky caught fire and the Blue Streaks finished the regulation time with what must be one of their best three minutes of basketball all season.With a 59-49 deficit staring the StreaksTough“ We haven’t had a break all year long and I didn’t expect one this time. This breought the Streaks within six, 59-53.Gentry brought the local squad even closer with a driving fastbreak layup to make the deficit 59-55 with 2:15 showing on the clock.Sandusky failed to take advantage of two straight DeVilbiss turnovers however and the Streaks were still down by four points with just under two minutes left in the final stanza.But wait a minute, we are not through yet. It is now time for Tony Randleman to get into the act.Randleman was fouled by John Morton with 1:44 left on the clock and he meshed both ends of the one and one to bring the Streaks within two 59-57.DEVILBISS WENT INTO a freeze until 56 seconds remained when the Tigers called time out.
