St. Mike’s captures wrestling crownSt. Michael’s High School of Pincher Creek captured the 1A/2A boys rural provincial wrestling championship over the weekend in Okotoks.As well, a number of local-area schools had athletes achieve medal wins at the event as a prelude to the provincial tournament, which will take place Feb. 21-22 in High River.Andrew Turner out of LCI captured a gold medal in the boys 68-kilogram weight class, while Caleb Greenwall of Taber W.R. Myers was a gold medalist in the 120-kilogram class.Myers had another champion, this coming in the girls’ division as Natalie Jaburek claimed gold in the girls 65kg class. Justine Bouchard added a silver for Myers in the girls61kg class.leading the way for St. Michael’s was Dustyn Fisher, who won silver in the boys 72kg weight class, while Travis Lambert won bronze in the 68kg division.
