Theoron Fleury of Russell led his Pee Weehockey team to capture the Dauphin Pee Wee Hockey Tournament held here Saturday, and a team from Alonsa took home the consolation trophy,Russell skated to two easy victories over Dauphin and Roblin, before thrashing Neepawa 8-2 in the championship final. Fleury was the leading player in all three contests.Alonsa scored threequick goals at the end of the third period in its match with Roblin, and then popped the puck in again with just 29seconds gone into overtime, to win 8-7. They then lost to Neepawa 9-6, before knocking out the Dauphin team in the consolation final, 9-5. Richard Oswald fired six goals in the final match.Dauphin beat Neepawa 6-4 in the tournament’s opening game, before suffering ignominious defeat atthe hands of the Russell team. They later lost out to Alonsa in the consolation final.Dauphin’s most valuable players (named for every game) were Brian Gilroy, Greg Yaworsky and Billy Fraser.Organizer Bill Ringrose said the tournament attracted “a good crowd” of about 100 paid adults and 75 children.
